Statement of Faith

The church believes:-

  • In one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit
  • In the personal return of the Lord Jesus Christ.
  • In the Scriptures of the Old and New Testament in their original writing as fully inspired of God, and accepts them as the final authority for faith and life.
  • That Jesus Christ was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, and is truly God and truly human.
  • That God created human beings in His own image and likeness; that the first man, Adam and woman Eve, sinned and thereby incurred the penalty of death, physically and spiritually. Adam and Eve’s sin and the resultant guilt and corruption are imputed in human kind. Human beings are born with a sinful nature, which issues in actual transgression involving personal guilt.
  • That the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures and that all who believe in Him are justified on the grounds of His perfect life and sacrificial death.
  • In the bodily resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ, His ascension into heaven and His present life as our High Priest and Advocate.
  • The only means of being cleansed from sin is through repentance toward God and faith in the finished work of the Lord Christ Jesus. Man is justified by grace through faith alone.
  • That all the Christians are called to life of holiness, devotion to God and service to Him. This service includes a deep concern for the world that God loves, which will lead us to seek the salvation of the lost and to care for the temporal needs of humanity.
  • The redemptive work of Christ on the cross provides healing for the human body. It is the privilege of all believers and is a sign following to confirm the preached word and God to unbelievers.
  • In the personality of the Holy Spirit, His regenerating work, His biding presence to the true believer, the necessity of His empowering to live the Christian life fully and His sovereign distribution of spiritual gifts.
  • The baptism of the Holy Spirit with speaking with other tongues as the Spirit of God gives utterance.
  • That the whole company of those who have accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as their Savour, been redeemed by Him and regenerated by the Holy Spirit from one true church, and that the local church on earth should take her character from this concept.
  • That the Lord Jesus Christ appointed two ordinances – Baptism and the Lord’s Supper, to be observed as acts of obedience and as perpetual witness to the cardinal facts of the Christian Faith.
  • The Baptism in immersion of the believer in water as a confession of identification with Christ in the burial and resurrection.
  • That the bread and wine signifying the body and shed blood are taken in thanksgiving for His sacrificial death and resurrection, until His return.
  • That the ascended Christ has given various ministries to the church in order to bring all believers to the place of Christian maturity in understanding of truth, the performance and function of their ministry to God.
  • In the priesthood and ministry of all believers.
  • In the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust, the judgment of the living and the dead, the eternal blessedness of the redeemed, and the eternal punishment of the lost together with Satan and the demons.
